TO PARAMARIBO, SURINAME!

The border between Guyana and Suriname is demarcated by the wide Atlantic estuary of the Courantyne river
There are two airports here, a big one a long way south of Paramaribo (we'll be going there to fly out) and a dinky Zorg en Hoop which is a hop into town
Quick cab ride and here's our home for three nights, the Albergo Alberga, in Paramaribo
Time for a short walk to get some bearings - the Roman Catholic cathedral-basilica of St Peter and Paul is the biggest wooden structure in the western hemisphere apparently, consecrated in 1885, and restored in 2010. Very fine, but closed...
